INDIAN SUMMER CHANDIGARH, INDIA
In a city renowned for its architectural heritage, interior designer Britt Ross has created an eclectic space infused with elements of Indian and English design.
A bold, immersive use of colour, a dynamic mix of patterns, and beautiful bespoke furniture and rugs – these are some of the highlights of Britt Ross’s interior design for this house in Chandigarh, northern India. For her client who lives in England but spends summers in India, Britt created a luxurious yet welcoming retreat made for relaxing and entertaining. The skills of local craftsmanship have been utilised to create unique pieces, and special details abound, from the hand-carving on a chair to the fringing on a rug to the curves of a bedhead. Rich hues define different rooms, enhanced by fabrics featuring motifs of Indian and English style in what is an appealing and whimsical merging of cultures.
